‘Part Of Us’ is a transcendent, mesmerising track from Paris’ Lou Berry. It opens full of washy keyboard chords, before drifting towards a funky drum pattern embellished with detuned guitars and swelling textures. The soulful compositional tapestry he forms is held together by genuinely impressive production which makes every single detail and nuance of the track a key element of the overall experience. Of the track, he explains: “The character tries to preserve his emotional reminiscence by appealing to the memories of a girl from the past, what he calls a "hidden part of us". I feel the song has a special sense of nostalgia: memories can bring happiness on their own.” The tune takes pride of place towards the end of his debut album, Inner World. -Dan Peeke
